As the smoking corpse of the earth hurtles towards towards its inevitable destruction, Kink and Snare provide a fitting soundtrack with their planet cracking Mech E.P. The production and DJ partnership from Wigan, near Manchester, England, have created a sound that is light years ahead of their young age. Featuring furious, futuristic funk that is guaranteed to set dance floors on fire, this collection of four tracks is a diverse and extremely accomplished debut from two producers who look set to go on to great things. This release is all about creating carnage in the crowd and though it continues with the experimental, leftfield theme that EXE has become known for, it will no doubt be greatly received by fans of big, bold dance floor drum and bass with a seriously technological edge.

Heavily influenced by the gritty sci fi world of Evangelion and all things mech, especially in anime, these young producers channel their interpretation of a not too distant dystopia through their neuro driven dance floor sound. Mastered by breakcore pioneer and musical journeyman, Aaron Spectre, this release sounds fresh, unique and ferocious with four fierce tracks that are linked by the common theme of futuristic, mechanized madness. You can picture city sized battle cruisers and armies of robotic fighting machines standing off across desolated urban landscapes when you hear the hypnotic sounds of Cyrosphere and Conflux takes us straight in to the beating heart of a world controlled by a malevolent machine consciousness, beyond human understanding.

Vexed is a half time, sonic experiment that has melodic and musical elements to balance the sheer force of the other three tracks. Dark, menacing and cinematic, this tune shows that these newcomers aren't just about the straight up heavy hitters but can also turn their hand to the kind of music that would sit perfectly as a soundtrack to one of their beloved anime films. Exo returns to the technoid battle ground with a short, sharp shock that will leave dance floors devastated and screaming for more.

After their incredible debut DJ set at the EXE label night in Manchester where they supported Eye D, Ghost in the Machine and Lucio De Rimanez, Kink and Snare already have a great reputation around the local Drum and Bass scene. Mixing a range of explosive, dance floor friendly styles with plenty of their own, distinctive productions, these two are set to make their mark on the world of Drum and Bass with this uncompromising, brutal E.P.
